Thank you for joining us on our blog. We have been writing down our experiences http://www.sailblogs.com/member/serenmor/83276 since we decided to sail to Greece back in 2009. When, after four years living on board, we parted company with our beloved boat and changed tack to explore on land in a caravan, the blog location changed to here.
However, life has a habit of getting in the way of plans and we only got to spend a summer in the ‘van. I must apologise to anyone who has been following this blog because of its caravan content. We hope one day to return to caravanning and I will leave the relevant pages for your perusal.
So what happened? Well, Neil got offered a job in Abu Dhabi and the chance to try living somewhere completely new seemed like an opportunity not to be missed. The blog became a personal account of our day to day experiences of a culture and lifestyle unlike anything we have known before.
When Neil’s contract came to a natural end after two years in the Middle East we had to decide what to do next. Spending time with friends on their boat helped us to realise how much we missed it but that we also didn’t want to do the whole live-aboard lifestyle again. The ideal that many before us have come to is to spend the summer on the boat and winter on land. With that in mind we set about the search for a suitable sailing boat, finding her in Greece at the end of 2015. Perhaps the blog name won’t be as appropriate anymore but I don’t want to change it again if I can help it! So watch this space.

We used to have a boat and sold it 15 years ago. (We also changed to a campervan). Now we have bought a boat and hope to go live on her and are gradually giving up all our worldly goods to do so.
